Hemsby Lifeboat, also known as Hemsby Inshore Rescue Service (HIRS), is a fully independent Lifeboat operating at sea off the Hemsby coast in Norfolk, and used for Inland rescue on the Norfolk Broads.
This Independent search and rescue (SAR) service was conceived in 1975 as Hemsby Volunteer Inshore Rescue Club, becoming Hemsby Inshore Rescue Service in 1976.
Hemsby Lifeboat is a non-profit making registered charity, has 'Declared Facility' status with H.M. Coastguard, and is a member of the National Independent Lifeboats Association (NILA).
