u3a (University of the Third Age) is a member of the The Third Age Trust, which was
founded in France in the 1970’s, and came across to the UK in the 1980’s. It is for retired
and semi-retired people who want to laugh and learn in their later years!
Now world-wide, the u3a is apolitical, non-denominational, and non-profit making, and has
over 1000 branches and circa 400,000 members in the UK.
We at Wymondham u3a are an extremely friendly group of people with the aim to provide
opportunities to share friendship, knowledge, skills and experiences, whilst at the same time
learning and having a lot of fun. Founded in 2001, we continue to expand and thrive and
currently have over 60 interest groups and over 700 members.
We have a wide variety of groups for you to join, plus day trip, holidays and events to
attend.
New members are very welcome, and you can either join at our weekly Thursday meetings
from 9am at the Central Hall Wymondham or online. If you attend the coffee morning, you
will be greeted as you arrive and passed to a knowledgeable person to answer all your
questions and introduce you to the right person to answer these.
We also produce a monthly newsletter to keep our members up to date with what we are
doing and planning.
